The Australian Libertarian Society (ALS) was founded by John Humphreys in 2000, and is an organisation dedicated to the principles of individual liberty, free markets and small government.
Since 2000 the ALS has been involved in various excerices of libertarian activism. In the early years, the ALS released several discussion papers and produced a newsletter. In January 2003, the ALS changed format and became a blog .
The ALS helps to coordinate occasional libertarian dinners. ALS people have been involved in campaigns for capitalism, for trade and against Kyoto and ALS people have represented libertarian views with the media . The ALS also provides general information about libertarianism, libertarian thinkers and libertarian groups on the web.
