Albert Jay Nock (October 13, 1873 – August 19, 1945) was an influential American libertarian, author, educational theorist, and social critic of the early and middle 20th century. Nock was a follower of the economic theories of Henry George and later became known for his book Our Enemy, the State, which criticized the New Deal.
